P6 News:- Amazing Limericks

P6 have been doing Limericks recently and they are amazing! We have made them into PowerPoint slides. Mr Dillon got us a page with blank spaces and we had to fill them in. This showed us how a limerick worked. We also looked at different limericks, some funny and others crazy.

The first, second and fifth lines have to end with the same rhyming words. The third and fourth lines have to end with the same rhyming words. If we were finished our sheets we got to get a scrap bit of paper and make up our own Limericks.

We wrote out some and allowed people to read them and see how they could be improved. Everyone laughed and enjoyed reading them to the class and each other. Some limericks were crazy. After they had been checked and altered we could then put them onto the computer.

Mr Dillon showed us how to create and edit a PowerPoint slide. We also used clip art and google to add pictures to our slides. Some people managed to animate their slides.

Emma enjoyed writing them and reading them out to the class.

Rhiannon enjoyed doing the PowerPoint because you could put lots of pictures on it.

Chelsy said she had lots of fun and its very different.

James said the first four lines were easy to make up but the fifth was a little tricky.

Jessica really enjoyed making the PowerPoint and doing the animations.

Alec said he liked writing out his limerick and then turning it into a PowerPoint.
