- World Book Day is an annual event led by the charity Unesco and is designed to celebrate everything to do with books and reading. This year it will be held on 4th March 2021.
The event is designed to encourage children to read and develop their love of books. In 2021 World Book Day , just like everything else , will be very different. Despite the current pandemic it is still going ahead and along with National Book Tokens Ltd, all children under the age of 18 will receive a £1 book token. There are still plenty of ways to celebrate World Book Day at home or at school.
This year, at Maghera Primary School we still want to celebrate World Book Day.
We would like you to read a book in a random or whacky place and send your photos into your class teacher via the Seesaw app. Please remember to be safe and stick to the lockdown , social distancing guidelines !
