P6 News: The p6 mini Olympics
On the 14th April 2016, the p6 class had a go at the mini Olympics straw javelin throw and even Mr Dillon had a go. The rules are pretty straight forward and easy. The rules, you have to keep your elbow at the edge of the table you are using, then you throw the straw javelin as far as you can and lastly you have to write down your score on a piece of paper.
Mr Dillon stuck black lines at the end of the table so that everyone would throw from the correct place. Everybody had great fun. Mini javelins were flying everywhere. People had to quickly learn it wasn’t about strength but rather technique and style.
The class really enjoyed the task and Mr Dillon has more events lined up in our min Olympic challenge. P6 look forward to doing more mini Olympics events.
