On Friday 5th February the Primary 4/5 Class took part in the RSPB Big School’s Birdwatch. Field Officer Jo came to our class to tell us what we would be doing and showed us some photos of the birds we might see. She also brought along some soft toy birds which made the actual sound of the real bird!
The rain dried up and we were able to get outside to count the birds we found in our school grounds. The most common one we saw was the blackbird, but we saw lots of others- robins, chaffinches and even a rook perching on top of Mr Dillon’s classroom!
We loved getting out and about with our binoculars- we even went home to have a search and listen in our gardens to compare our findings!
Willy was heard to shout "Awesome!"
