VISION
Maghera Primary School is a caring, friendly community school, where we educate and develop each child to their full potential in order to meet the challenges of life.
HISTORY
Maghera Primary School opened in April 1967. Pupils attending the school come from the town of Maghera and the surrounding area. The school has a current enrolment of 104 and employs a Principal. 5 Teachers, 1 part time Special Needs Teacher, 4 Classroom Assistants, Secretary, Building Supervisor, 2 cooks and 2 Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants.
In our school we have 4 Classrooms. Computer Suite/Library and a mobile classroom.
We are always striving to improve school provision. The refurbished Computer/Library has been re-stocked and catalogued. A wide range of outdoor educational material is available.
During the last year we received a generous grant from NGO Challenge Fund. This money was used to secure the services of The Conservation Volunteers. They will provide the school with a specially designed garden which will include a pond.
We plan to continue next year by developing a wildlife area within the garden.
We pride ourselves in providing a caring ethos where pupils and staff are valued and feel confident in their relationship with each other. We encourage children to give their best and strive to maintain a positive atmosphere in which they can reach their full potential.
